Linked to the geothermal energy project is a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) under development by the company in the same area of Elementaita. The industrial zone is located just 3km the Nairobi-Nakuru highway at Kikopey. 175 km of this key artery known as the Northern Corridor is set for upgrading into a six-lane highway.

Railway Connectivity to the Industrial Park: Design for construction of a railway siding from the Gilgil Railway Station to serve the SEZ and EPZ is ongoing. It will give the industrial park a competitive logistics advantage by providing a direct link from the current inland port at Mai Mahiu (and by extension Mombasa)

Benefits of having a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) include:

Corporate Tax. 10% for the first 10 years after the start of operations, 15% for the next 10 years and 30% for the subsequent years.

VAT Perpetually VAT exemption for goods and services

Stamp Duty: Perpetual exemption from stamp duty

Withholding Tax: WHT rate of 5% on all the payments

Investment deductions: Allowable deduction of 150% for all construction, purchase and/or installation of machinery

Excise Duty: Excise duty is perpetually exempt

Import Declaration Fees/ Railway Development Levy: Perpetual exemption from payment
